🌍 Climate Vulnerability Assessment
As part of our commitment to safeguarding communities, Nirmol Bangladesh conducts robust climate vulnerability assessments across the South-Asian coastal belt [1] and highly affected mainland districts. Under the guidance of our Center for Climate Studies and Disaster Resilience (CCSDR) [2], we gather vital localized data to inform policy and adaptation strategies.
Highlight: Kurigram Flood Vulnerability Assessment (2024). We conducted an in-depth field research trip to Kurigram to gather vital data on flood impacts, community vulnerabilities, and adaptive capacities. This evidence-based approach is designed to support more effective flood risk management and community resilience programs [3].
🌊 Coastal Eutrophication Monitoring
A vital initiative funded by The Ocean Foundation (USA) under the GEM-in-a-Box program. This project is dedicated to generating comparable, standardized global-scale datasets on seawater health by assessing water quality, ecosystem health, and coastal resilience in the Sundarbans-adjacent areas [4, 5].
It addresses critical geospatial knowledge gaps in under-sampled locations, actively contributing to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development [6].
