Young Climate Leaders are a dynamic group of young people actively involved in advocating for climate action and implementing real-world solutions to address the climate crisis. Coming from diverse backgrounds and experiences across universities in Bangladesh, they are deeply passionate about protecting our planet.
Through this program, they utilize their voices, skills, and creativity to raise awareness about the urgency of the climate crisis, push for systemic policy changes, and mobilize local communities and governments. They serve as an inspiration to others and are critical in shaping a sustainable and equitable future for all.

Educate and engage peers, communities, and the general public on the causes and severe impacts of climate change, emphasizing the urgent need to mitigate its effects.

Develop robust leadership skills and extensive climate knowledge to enable young participants to independently lead impactful workshops, seminars, and outreach campaigns.

Training Curriculum & Benefits
Comprehensive Training Modules
The program equips selected leaders with crucial knowledge and skills through two structured phases:
- Climate Science and Impacts Understanding the foundational basics of climate science, recognizing the core causes, analyzing direct impacts, and reviewing future climate projections.
- Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Mastering actionable strategies including the deployment of sustainable energy, green infrastructure development, and carbon sequestration techniques.
- Communication and Leadership Developing the ability to inspire action through public speaking, strategic social media use, effective communication techniques, and grassroots advocacy.
- Project Management Gaining practical skills to seamlessly plan, organize, and execute community-based climate action projects.
- Collaboration and Networking Learning to build and sustain pivotal relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, academia, and the private sector.
- Monitoring and Evaluation Training on how to systematically measure, assess, and report the success and impact of completed climate action projects.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Eligibility Requirements to Apply
- Age: Must be within the range of 18 to 30 years old.
- Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a recognized university or educational institution in Bangladesh.
- Commitment: A genuine passion for climate action and environmental sustainability, with the willingness to commit time and effort to program responsibilities.
- Background: While not mandatory, an academic background in environmental studies, climate science, or sustainability is considered an advantage.
- Experience: Must show a track record of community engagement and demonstrate leadership potential through extracurriculars or student organizations.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and fluency in English and/or other relevant languages to advocate effectively.
