To solve a common problem of failed Niskin bottle sampling in the strong tidal waters of the Sundarbans, our team developed a simple rope-triggered frame that closes the bottle accurately without using a messenger weight. The first field test successfully collected a clean water sample along with CTD and mini-DOT data, showing that this simple design can make water sampling more reliable in challenging conditions.
